Access and Success
Few areas of public policy are as important as access to and success in post-secondary education. Ensuring equality of access to education is the best way a democratic society can ensure economic fairness as well as prosperity in the long run. However, barriers to access and success are multifaceted – and solutions also need to be multifaceted. The Canadian Education Project is among the leaders in the field of analyzing and promoting access to and success in higher education. Through our work on the MESA Project (www.mesa-project.org), we understand both the ways in which access challenges differ across Canada and the ways in which all provinces face similar challenges. As well, we have experience conducting large-scale random assignment projects in a secondary school setting, and our review of the Aboriginal Education and Training and Strategy has also given us systemic-level insights into systemic issues for Aboriginal people.
The Canadian Education Project has served a number of important clients in this area, including Nipissing University, Seneca College, the Government of Ontario and Human Resources Development Canada.
